Marching Band Music Ideas

This is your one opportunity to give ideas for our 2008 Marching Band Production. Please add your ideas in the comment section. We are looking for themes or specific tunes. Please do not enter "the song goes like this... Nah, nah, nah mah, nah nah." If you know the artist, please add that to your post.

Deadline for completion of ideas will be Sunday, Mar. 16 at 8pm.

Hi guys and gals, I've always had a couple of songs in mind, they both are heavy on the horns and drums. The first is "just a singer in a rock and roll band" by the Moody Blues. The second is Fleetwood Mac's "tusk" ,which was recorded with the USC marching band accompanying them, thanks for the open ear. Mark Eckert (Dan and Lindsays dad)

Anything by S Club 7 would be amazing!

Hey, now that you mention it, maybe Renegade from Styx, Superstition by Stevie Wonder.. cool brass stuff.. and why not mention All the Small Things, seeing as how we own it. But hey if all else fails, you might as well go with eric hagen's Classic Cult show he put together...>_<

This one is really from Lindsay!
I think a swing band theme would really fire up the crowd and the band! Zoot suit riot comes to mind, and pretty much anything from the stray cats. The possibilities for the color guard are great, the band could even dance while the drum line rocks!! I would love to help out with this theme.

Im thinkin maybe some santana or maybe a cinema type thing. music from movies that people know. Wicked would be cool too.

Swing is good but what about different dances and their songs through the decades:
Locomotion
The Hustle
Electric Slide
etc.
The band could break into the dance in the middle of each song.

What about a Blue Man Group set. Especially the latest Rock Concert stage act they do.

Eric thinks that Twisted Sister's (either) We're not gonna take it!, or I wanna rock should be definity be put into consideration.

Take on Me (by A-Ha, and not by some stupid new band) should also be a likely possibility. And if Mr. Sunshine (or as the less educated call him: Kookie) suggests 'Total Eclipse of My Heart', he should be fired!!! lol

Or we should all listen to Peter and do one of my field shows where in which choas is finally organized in made into godlyness!
